- As a graduate trainee at Zimbabwe Power Company I have been exposed to both thermal power plants and hydro-power plant namely Hwange Power Station, Munyati Power Station and Kariba South Hydro Power Station respectively. In my work experience I have corroborated with other engineers with commissioning of newly installed equipment e.g., 2 x 2.4MVA diesel generators for emergency plant, established protection and commissioning of the 33/0.4 kV Gwai 5MVA Transformer that is meant for emergency standby plant at Hwange Power Station, Draft tube gate control circuit modifications and commissioning at Kariba South Power Station, etc. I was also given the responsibility to compile Failure Modes and Effect Analysis in Common Plant electrical at Hwange Power Station, Updated preventive maintenance task list in SAP, compiled risk register, and got involved in daily maintenance activities in the bid to achieve long term strategic goals of the power plant.
