• Solange established the company in Rwanda and lead the Contract Negotiations between the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Rwanda Development Board, and Rwanda Energy Group to set up a Rwanda-based Solar Home System Manufacturing Plant. In partnership with COMZA Africa, Solange led a project that developed a Mobile and web application (Solar Loans Management Platform) with the purpose to serve low-income households to afford a solar loan. Under the leadership of Solange, NOTS Solar Lamps Plc managed to distributed 15,000 solar home systems in the low income households on the loan basis with a backlog of less than 7% per week using a mobile money payment system. As Managing Director, Solange provides overall leadership and oversees, directs, and controls the company’s day-to-day administrative and operational functions of NOTS Solar Lamps Plc’s and gives strategic guidance and direction to the board to ensure that the company achieves its mission and objectives.

• Solange helped to establish and to register the International NGO (Education Development Center) in Rwanda and managed a 5-year, $25 million, and USAID literacy initiative to strengthen teaching and learning so that children could leave primary school with solid literacy and numeracy skills. She was responsible for all project operations, including administrative and financial aspects of the program, as well as ensuring that targets were met. Solange also managed the human resource department, ensuring policy and procedures compliance. In regards to the technical aspects, she led and planned the processes to develop ICT tools to enable the production of the instructional material.

• Solange monitored the implementation of the ‘ICT in Education Pillar’ to promote the use of ICT in teaching and learning. She coordinated the effective use of ICT across the whole curriculum, encouraging cross-curricular planning and supporting the professional development of all staff in the use of ICT in teaching and learning. She liaised with partner schools, the local education authority and the wider community to engage them in the implementation of ICT as a learning tool.
