• This is High tech Recirculating Aquaculture System project implemented by Akagera Management Company as a first big fish farming project and new innovation in aquaculture made in Rwanda. It has a high investment of about 2 billion US$. It was funded by African parks, Food Tech-Africa and Dutch embassy. The key responsibilities I was intended to fill:  Manager should ensure that Gishanda Fish Farm is profitable through costs being kept to minimum and excellent sales.  Manager has to create an environment with excellent team working spirit.  Manage the daily, weekly and monthly operations of the fish farm. These include overseeing maintenance of water quality, effective fish feeding, maintaining hygienic conditions, amongst other requirements.  Effectively and conscientiously manage the Fish Farm team to achieve targeted metric tons production of Tilapia a year.  Effectively and conscientiously manage the Fish Farm team to achieve targeted fingerlings a year.  Help Gishanda achieve profitability by seeking the best markets for best sales prices.  Manage the farm well to keep operating costs to a minimum.  Help develop auxiliary businesses, such as catfish and vegetable farming  Help with community training program to grow fish farming capacity regionally.

• This is a funded project with over 700,000US$ implemented by Rwanda Animal Resources Improvement Cooperative under Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Board. The project was to help improvement of pond and dams fish farming and increase production through on job training of farmers buy Aquaculture Technicians and support of fingerlings and Fish feed supply. It was funded by Rwanda Ministry of Agriculture. The key responsibilities I was intended to fill:  Responsible for feeding fish as instructed by the supervisor  Responsible for cleaning the ponds and the entire fish farm environment  Changes the water in the pond as instructed by the supervisor on a regular basis  Handles fish farm implements and machines (hatchery) as instructed by the section manager / supervisor  Responsible for raising and harvesting fish  Conducting fish farmers’ training and workshops,  Assist in the management of fish farmer’s cooperative;  Emphasis record keeping of fish farming activities for further research, management and planning;  Design business plan of the responsible farm;  Conduct regularly fish monitoring to understand fish grow  Make farm logistics  Farm marketing;  Carries out task in line with the stated job description  Assists in transport working tools and equipment from the fish farm and back to the designated store room.  Handles any other duties as assigned by the line manage
