• I have 4 years of experience in Hatchery Management overseeing all processes from breeding through to fingerling grow out with hands on experience and this strengthened my technical skills. In addition to supplying fingerlings to our cages, I also spearheaded initiatives on fingerling supply to the Government, the Pvt sector, and other stakeholders to reduce our fingerling production costs to below 0.04c per piece benefiting on production numbers. Successfully introduced new genetics from Spring Genetics, USA in 2020 and currently holding the second batch that is currently breeding on the farm. I also successfully introduced the artificial incubation system (Recirculation Aquaculture System) to supplement fry output with improvements in eggs’ hatchability ratios from 20% to 65% between 2017 and 2023. This experience strengthened my planning, organisational, budgeting, communication, and technical skills. I also gained the ability to initiate projects, follow through until completion, and review success.

• I successfully delivered my initial assignment to set up and implement the Hatchery digitalisation system (Hatchery Aqua Manager) as the Hatchery Coordinator in 2017. I also directed and coordinated the day-to-day operations and resources of the Hatchery to ensure we are in line with plans, targets and budgeted yields and costs. We achieved positive results on survivals, production cycle times, FCRs and fish health. I also developed and implemented procedures and practices for the Hatchery to ensure highest standards are met and trained staff according to their training needs and job requirements. Fostered continual improvement by changing systems and technologies for example introduction of the automated fingerling grading system to improve on survivals. Weekly reporting of farm performance in production also strengthened my confidence and report writing skills.

• Being the SHEQ Office for 4 ½ years responsible for effective maintenance of the Quality and SHE management systems for the Feed mill. I acquired vast hands-on skills in feed manufacturing, feed quality monitoring, feed safety, quality assurance, health and safety. I ensured strict adherence to the feed formulations for the three product lines (grower pellets, brood stock pellets & juvenile crumbles) and monitoring production schedules. I delivered the best quality management systems for the then new Feed mill that complied with the rule and regulations for Feed Manufacturing (NSSA, EMA). I spearheaded the initiation and implementation of Global- GAP – Compound Feed Manufacturing and got initial certification in April 2015. I also gained internal auditing skills, risk assessment skills, research and development skills and public relations skills from the audits and interaction with the competent authorities and other stakeholders.
